Reaching the Conference from the airport

There are two options:

By Taxi

By Bus

An express bus (Bus X96) will take 45-60 minutes and cost 3.2 EUR. This bus follows the same route as the taxis and does not stop on the way so it is reasonably fast. The express bus stops around 800 m from the hotel (bus stop PIGADAKIA), one can walk from there or take the local bus for two stops.

Reaching Glyfada

The commercial and recreation area closest to the hotel is Glyfada, where one can find plenty of shops, restaurants and clubs. A taxi should cost around 5 EUR (more during the night). Alternatively, four buses buses run to Glyfada and stop 100 meters from the hotel (bus stop AG. NIKOLAOS):

• Bus 114: towards glyfada every 60 minutes
• Bus 115: towards glyfada every 60 minutes
• Bus 149: circular line towards glyfada every 40 minutes
• Γ1: towards piraeus (the port of Athens) every 40 minutes

Reaching Athens

There are many things to see and do in the center of Athens: the Acropolis and its brand new museum, the old town (Plaka) and the changing of the guard at the tomb of the unknown soldier are all within walking distance of Syntagma square where both options given below terminate. The Archeological museum can also be reached from there by using the metro. There are two options:

By Express Bus

• E22: towards athens center every 40 minutes. This bus stops 100m from the hotel (bus stop AG. NIKOLAOS).

By Bus+Tram line

The tram terminal is at Voula hospital which can be reached by bus 114, 115, 149 or G1. The distance is 3 km or 7 bus stops. Tram line 5 runs to Athens.

Tickets

At the time the conference will be held there will be a common ticket for all means of transport (bus, tram, metro), valid for 90 minutes and unlimited transfers, costing 0.80 EUR. There are also daily (3 EUR) and weekly (10 EUR) tickets available. The airport express uses a special ticket, costing 3.20 EUR. Note that although there are special tickets for the E22 bus, the regular tickets are valid between Athens and the hotel.
